Mr. Herzak graduated from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mike began his insurance career in 2000 as a commercial underwriter for Grange Mutual Insurance Companies in Columbus, Ohio. During this time, he managed a $6.5 million book of business while overseeing territories in Illinois and Michigan. Mike's responsibilities within his territory were to increase the volume of his book while maximizing its profitability. Mike had an agency force of nearly 60 agents spread across those states. He was also in contact with clients and visited them on a regular basis.

Mike joined Insurance Systems in June of 2004 as an account executive. His duties include new sales and managing personal lines accounts while focusing on marketing to commercial clients and prospects.

Mike received the professional designation of Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) in 2004 sponsored by the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society (AIMS) in Richmond, Virginia. Mike also received the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from The National Alliance for Insurance and Research in 2006. He is also a candidate for the professional designation of Certified Risk Manager (CRM).

He is also an active participant in the Orthodox Church. Mr. Herzak is a life long member of Archangel Michael Orthodox Church in Broadview Heights Ohio. He is a member of the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America (FOCA), is the treasurer of the FOCA Cleveland chapter, and currently serves on the Ohio District Executive Board in the capacity of District Treasurer.
