John V. Hategan

Director of Financial Services

Mr. Hategan started his insurance and financial services career in 1966 with Allstate Insurance Company. He spent three years with them building a substantial book of business, but soon found that he really wanted to focus in the personal and business planning area.

 

He left Allstate and joined Manulife Insurance Company, which today is John Hancock. During his tenure there he held various positions starting as an agent, then Brokerage Sales Manager, and finally as Regional Director of Agencies - Western Region. He left the company to return to Cleveland to be closer to friends and relatives.

 

His return to Cleveland was with CNA, at which time he met and associated with the then Herzak, Singel, and Stemler Agency. He has had a business and personal relationship with Michael Herzak now spanning some 25 years.

 

For the past 20 years, John has focused on developing an expertise in the financial, retirement, and business planning arena. He is licensed to sell all forms of life insurance and is a licensed securities broker and a Registered Investment Advisor.

 

John's duties with Insurance Systems include the sale and marketing of life, disability, long term care, and group and individual health. He is responsible for pre and post retirement planning for the agency's clients.

 

The son of the late Very Rev. Vasily Hategan, John currently is a member of St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Hategan served as President of the Church Council for the years 1993 and 1994. John was an active member of the American Romanian Orthodox Youth (AROY) club, presiding as National President in 1974 and 1975.
